In the fourth quarter of 2024, several medical apps on the Android platform in Ghana demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user engagement. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Dr. Blood Pressure: Diabetes, developed by Healthy Care Technology AI Lab, showed fluctuating download numbers, starting at 1.4K downloads at the end of September and dropping to 197 by the end of December. The weekly active users began at 4K, dipping to 2.9K mid-quarter before recovering slightly to end at 3.6K.

Period Tracker and Calendar, from SimpleInnovation, maintained a consistent revenue stream, averaging around $7 to $9 weekly. Downloads saw a peak of 526 in late October, with a slight decline toward the end of the year. Active users remained stable, hovering around 4.5K throughout the quarter.

Mobile JKN experienced a marked increase in downloads, climbing from 7 to over 1.2K by late December. The app’s active user base also expanded significantly, rising from 133 to 1.4K by the end of the quarter.

Microphone Amplifier saw its downloads surge from just 17 in early October to over 1.1K by the end of December. Despite modest revenue, active users grew from 80 to 764 by the quarter’s close.

Lastly, Beta-Medicate had a spike in downloads in mid-November, reaching 1.8K, before tapering off to just 2 by mid-December.
